You must have a room, or a certain hour or so a day, where you don’t know what was in the newspapers that morning, you don’t know who your friends are, you don’t know what you owe anybody, you don’t know what anybody owes to you. This is a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be. This is the place of creative incubation. At first you may find that nothing happens there. But if you have a sacred place and use it, something eventually will happen.

I think it's called "under the covers" but unfortunately, I can stay there and the thoughts permeate. What's your incubator?

Late at night and early in the morning when I am alone with my muses and I forget about the world.

I think all of the above are worth reading, and I know it takes time and I've heard how lonesome most writers are, I know I just wish I had the guts to sit down and put something on the page. I love spending all my spare time alone, with a good book, but I'm fearful of trying to write anything myself.
