I LOVE these. I've heard many before, and I actually have a collection of his stories on my shelf for a soon-to-read!

Reading K.V. ( on my my hero list 'cos of SlaughterH 9 ) as a medical student in the 70's shaped my brain,educated me in the expression and appreciation of compassion, and entertained me greatly....these tenets are worth memorizing for the aspiring reader/critic too....thanks for the post , Love it.
Thanks for your comment Alison. Slaughterhouse 5 was based on Vonnegut's experience as a prisoner of war during World War II, so he distilled a lot of what he lived through into that book.
