Many people hear voices when no one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.

I see movies of what my characters do, I don't make anything up, particularly, it is all there and I just have to write it down. LOL

Well, we all make it up but not consciously. It feels as if it was there all the time and it just comes to us. I am like you but sometimes my characters revolt and do what they please. A character I had described as quiet and shy on page five all of sudden starts talking the talk and walking the walk on page ten. When this happens I have to bring them back in line or else the story becomes a mess.

My stories stem from one simple idea, then grow. Sometimes it's like watching a movie, others I have to push my characters to move. Sometimes it's hard, others the pictures just flow and so does the writing. As a new writer I recently experienced a strange phenomenon. My characters came alive! One of them did something I had not expected. I have to say I was slightly disturbed by that! Luckily I had spoken to someone who had warned me this might happen. I do hear those voices and I have to keep my phone with me at all times to make sure I get those little notes, the snippets of information that make the story.

Yes, strange things like that happen to me too. A character will pop out of nowhere and demand to be written or a story will take over my mind and refuse to go away until I jot it down. No wonder in less tolerant times some of us were locked up at the loony bin! : ^ D

Hi. Wonderful project you have here. I was drawn in by Christine's comment that she sees movies of what's going on and that she can speak to her charavters and adk them quedtions. An interesting idea. (pardon the spelling, bloody tablet) As characters and stories are a result of what is going on in our heads, it's a good look at our subconscious. A writer's stories can be seen in a whole new light. A line directly into the psyche. Hmmm.

Thanks for your comments Louise. An artist's work reflects, as you say, to a certain extent what is going on in their minds but the relationship is tricky to figure out. See this post:
